Britney is Officially Dead to Me

So I've had some time to digest everything that happened at the VMAs last night. I don't wanna write too much, because everyone has something to say about it, but I will say this: I was really disappointed. I have been watching the live VMAs every year since I was old enough to know what was going on. The shows are normally packed full of excitement, fun and most importantly- great, show-stopping performances. This year had none of the above. Besides the train wreck that was Britney, everything else was fairly lousy. My roommate, Carolyn, and I were so jacked over Britney Spears's performance on the Video Music Awards that we had to record our feelings and make a vlog. Click the pic to view.

I thought Chris Brown's and Alicia Key's performances were great... so was Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland at the close of the show, but the rest were just weird. Having the artists perform in their "private suites" was just weird. The lighting was poor, the sound often was unintelligible, and they didn't even show a full song! I was so pumped to see Rihanna perform "Shut Up And Drive" with Fall Out Boy (what a cool mash up!) and they barely made it through the first chorus. What a joke. The whole show felt more like a New Year's Eve celebration than an awards show... and that is not a positive thing. I was fairly insulted.

Britney's performance was just disheartening and sad. Everyone was pulling for her and she just looked heavy, scared and disinterested. It was like she didn't even try. It wasn't a come back if you ask me; it was the nail in the coffin.

Also- What happened to all the special effects and illusions from Criss Angel?! I feel insulted. Thoughts?
