6 Things: Victoria Beckham Music Videos

Long gone are the days when the world remembers Victoria Beckham for her musical prowess. Now she is more known for her pin-thin figure, stylish outfits and stud of a husband, David Beckham. And yes, everyone knows that she was 1/5 of the biggest girl group of all time, but not many people outside of the UK know that she had a go at a solo career post-Spice Girls.

Vicky B. had only did one solo album (each of the other girls had at least 2, with Melanie C having 4) before she decided to put away singing for good (she didn't even do a solo on the Spice Girls tour, she only walked the catwalk). So let's take a look at my 6 fave Victoria Beckham solo videos.

Not Such an Innocent Girl

A Mind of Its Own

Out of Your Mind (True Steppers f. Victoria Beckham)

Let Your Head Go (really funny)

This Groove

OK, so Victoria only has 5 solo videos, so here's a clip from her special that should have been a series Victoria Beckham: Coming to America

Do you think Victoria could ever make it back to music, or should she stick to fashion/scowling?

The Ru-Mix: Wait 'Til You See My Smile

Good afternoon! Please enjoy this little emotional mix of jams in the latest version of The Ru-Mix.

Wait 'Til You See My Smile

Sade is back with an almost martial sound, Paloma Faith gives us epic-ness, Alicia Keys will help you through despair, Adam Lambert shows us what all the fuss REALLY should be about, Jay Sean's stripped down vocals showcase his vulnerability, and Frankmusik unplugged makes you realize that he's one of the best voices to come out of England in quite some time. Finally, what's most exciting is the return of Hot Chip!

The Ru-Mix: When Love Takes Over (2009's Greatest Hits)

As the year winds down and the number of Ru-Mixes piles up Ru has put together a huge compilation of his favorite jams from '09. Check it out!

When Love Takes Over (2009's Greatest Hits)

This is a mix of my favorite songs of the year represented by alternate remixes to those on Ru-Mixes past. Some of these new remixes include songs from newcomers like La Roux, Calvin Harris, Little Boots, Frankmusik, the voices of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, and even some tunes that put new feathers in Lady M and Nippy's respective caps! Of course, nothing sums up my year better than the Grammy-nominated title track, "When Love Takes Over."

The Celine Dion Workout

Ever wonder how Celine Dion manages to stay to fit and trim, and has enough stamina to make it through her high energy performances? Ya, I never wondered that either, but now you can get the answer from someone doing a really awesome Celine impersonation.

I very much enjoyed the video, especially since the moves in the workout video are so Celine. It's no Body Fuzion, but Celine could be on her way to becoming the greatest workout video instructor... IN THE WORL!

Kim Zolciak Performs "Tardy for the Party" on 'Ellen'

Who knew that Kim Zolciak from The Real Housewives of Atlanta might have an actual, semi-legit music career ahead of her? Not me. Not me... But somehow her little diddy "Tardy for the Party" has made its way from a completely laughable country song to a huge club hit.

First Kim had her debut performance of the song on the RHoATL reunion special and it was a hot mess, but now she's moved on to a very notable program: The Ellen DeGeneres Show! Check out Kim's set from this week's show.

Ya, it wasn't anything great, but I'm still impressed that Kim booked Ellen. I particularly enjoy her two friends who she obviously got to be her dancers as a favor. They don't even do any choreography; they just dance around.

Good for her wig.

UCB Group Spoofs Lady Gaga's "Poker Face"

Move over Beyonce's "Single Ladies" spoofs! Although she was gypped as a best new artist nominee for the Grammys this year, Lady Gaga could easy take the crown for favorite artist to parody on the Internet. Yesterday I came across Sam Tsui's acoustic Gaga medley and today I was sent an amazing clip of UCB's Noteworthy performing "Poker Face" at the 9th Annual West Coast A Cappella Showcase. Behold!

The Internet is awesome!

The Ru-Mix: Undercover

More tunes from mix master Ru! Check out these downloads of some very popular songs covered by other artists in the latest Ru-Mix.

Ru-Mix: Undercover

This mix is a collection of some of your favorite songs re-imagined and recomposed by today's most exciting artists. There are some really interesting choices made here and if anything it shows that a great song will always be a great song, no matter the interpretation.

Sam Tsui's Acoustic Lady Gaga Medley

You might not recognize the name Sam Tsui, but you probably have seen his unique cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" as covered by the cast of Glee. Well, Mr. Tsui is back with a new video, and this time he's doing an acoustic medley of Lady Gaga's biggest hits. Check it out!

While his movement is a little distracting (ok, a lot distracting) his voice is awesome! I briefly met Sam backstage when I visited It's On With Alexa Chung and he was super nice and about 4 feet tall. Congrats on the new video! I'm sure it will be making the viral rounds soon.

Rihanna Duets With "Shy Ronnie" on 'SNL'

Rihanna was the musical guest on last night's Saturday Night Live with Blake Lively hosting. In addition to performing "Russian Roulette" and "Hard" the singer also made a cameo in an SNL Digital Short called "Shy Ronnie" with Andy Samberg. Check it out...

The video was pretty funny, but Rihanna's timing and facial expressions were hilarious!

Paper Puppets Perform Beyonce/Lady Gaga Duet

Most fan-made music videos on YouTube are fairly terrible, but I came across one that is actually quite artsy and interesting. Check out this paper doll video inspired by Beyonce and Lady Gaga's duet "Telephone."

Cool, right? "Telephone" is the second collaboration for Gaga and Beyonce. You can watch the real video for Beyonce's song "Video Phone" here.

Lady Gaga Sings and Chats on 'The Jay Leno Show'

NBC Photo: Justin Lubin

Making the rounds for the re-release of The Fame Monster (which drops today) Lady Gaga dropped by The Jay Leno Show for another great performance of her latest single "Bad Romance." Check it out (clip goes straight to the performance!)

The "princess of pop" also sat down with Leno to talk about her new album, her upbringing in Manhattan and her love for her fans. She also brought back that effing tea cup that she loves so much. Watch that, too...

I love that when Jay asks her she says the rumor about herself that she hates the most is that she's from Yonkers, NY and not NYC. Those hermaphrodite rumors don't bug you so much, huh?

I think it's great to see Lady Gaga giving more traditional-style interviews where's she's not being completely weird. I also noticed that at both the American Music Awards and on Jay Leno Gaga's makeup and facial accessories were very subdued. Perhaps a little strategy to get people to be able to recognize her beyond her insane wardrobe? For whatever reason, I like it!

Do you own The Fame Monster yet? What do you think?

What's Your Stereomood?

I am all about the new music lately! Many moons ago I wrote about Musicovery.com, a streaming audio site that lets you play tunes based on your mood and personal tastes. Another site has popped up with a similar feeling with a more streamlined player.

Stereomood.com serves up a tag cloud of thoughts and feelings to suit whatever mood you may be in. You just click the words that best describe your feelings and a great playlist of mood-appropriate songs pops up!

You can also join (for free!) and start creating your own mood lists or variations to save and stream whenever you like. Be it "Feel like crying, "Focus on" or "Just wake up" there is a mood list available. This morning I'm listening to "Sunny day."

What would your mood list be today?

[thanks, Ru]

Free (and Good!) Music from Urban Outfitters

Have you ever walked into a clothing store and heard great music playing in the background? I can't tell you how many times I've been shopping and thought, "Who sings this?!" Being that I don't have an iPhone and am sans Shazam I'm normally left to ask someone in the store or scour the Web to find the unknown tracks.

Interestingly enough on my last visit to Urban Outfitters they gave me a sleeve of stickers in my bag, which turned out to be the names of the artists featured on their latest FREE music download called LSTN. It's 100% free music from artists that you may know, but probably don't. On the seventh and most recent installment you get free tracks from bands like The Big Pink, Girls, Apache Beat and The XX.

I think part of the big appeal about finding songs recommended by Urban Outfitters is that the music that they play in their stores is both upbeat and relaxing (mostly) at the same time. The tunes are awesome for background noise while you're mind focuses on something else -- like shopping -- and I spent hours last weekend sipping coffee and writing while my iTunes flipped through track after track of undiscovered gems.

You can get all the free tracks (over 100 so far) from LSTN.UrbanOutfitters.com. Enjoy!

The Ru-Mix: Silver Lining

Happy Friday! Here's a new Ru-Mix from Ru to get your weekend started.

Here's another emo mix, similar to "Untouchable" and "Fascination." Highlights on this mix include one of Mariah Carey's best tracks to date, an unreleased Lady Gaga track that showcases her "Quicksand" brilliance was no fluke, one of the best songs of this year--by Natalie Imbruglia nonetheless (Chris Martin co-wrote and dubbed it the best song Coldplay never recorded), a rare Kylie Minogue track (penned by Madonna!), and Frankmusik shows off his lyrical prowess that makes you wish you had your own Superhero to croon to. --Ru

Have a great weekend!

6 Things: Radio 1 Live Lounge Covers

People reading this in the States are probably unfamiliar, but in the UK BBC's Radio 1 does a Live Lounge with popular recording artists. Besides performing acoustic versions of their own hits, the artists often do covers of other artists' songs.

Please take a few minutes out of your day to listen to six of my favorite covers from the Live Lounge...

The Saturdays covering The Four Season's "Beggin'"

Sam Sparro covering Estelle's "American Boy"

Jordin Sparks covering Katy Perry's "Hot N' Cold"

Paramore covering Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody"

Snow Patrol covering Madonna's "Ray of Light"

Katy Perry covering MGMT's "Electric Feel"

There are hundreds more covers out there, so please share your favorites, too!

Kelly Performs Concert Encore in Stewie Griffin Costume

During a tour stop in St. Charles, MO on Halloween Kelly Clarkson decided to have her entire band get into the spirit and perform her encore in costume. Enjoy Kelly singing a cover of The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" dressed as Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. Make sure to watch the whole clip because the closeup at the end is fantastic.

Not sure if that butt hanging out is Kelly's or part of the costume (sorry, I had to.)

Side note! iTunes is offering Kelly Clarkson's first four albums at a bundled price! You can download Kelly Clarkson: The Collection (50 songs!) for only $19.99
