In this first part of this week's episode of America's Next Top Model the girls get makeovers (click here to see the results) before a surprise elimination. Then this week's photo shoot takes models to the beaches of Malibu, where they pose as fallen angels for photographer Anne Menke.
Keep reading to take a look at the models' best photos from the shoot before the episode airs.
This week is makeover week on America's Next Top Model and it appears that the models' new looks were more simple and effortless than ever before for this "high fashion" Cycle. Want to get an early look at the girls' transformations? Keep reading to see them.

I was back in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a long weekend, during which I paid a visit to Kennywood Park. Contrary to the belief of people who are not from the area, Kennywood is not the Kenny Rogers equivalent to Dollywood. It's a beautiful old amusement park that is one of only two of its kind listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Here are a few pictures a snapped during the trip:
You can also view a bunch of videos I took at Kennywood here.
Check out this incredible clip of this dude walking across the United States filmed completely with stop-motion.
The trip began June 17, 2010 in New York City and ended July 1, 2010 in San Francisco and was shot using only still photos, no video. Watch this behind-the-scenes clip of how they made the cross-country trip.
You can read more about the trip and production process and see a map of all of the pit stops here. Amazing!
I'm loving these miniature scenes created using an iPhone as a back drop. The artist -- JD Hancock -- has a quite a collection of miniature photo shoots on his Flikr page, but these iPhone scenes are particularly enjoyable. Check 'em out...
I've been paying special attention to home decorating and design blogs after moving into my new apartment in July, and after getting a good response from a few posts about the new place I've decided to share some more steps along the way.
Now that we finally painted it was time to get some art on the walls. I love the look of vintage postcards, so we decided to make a "collection wall" of sorts with ones found at local flea markets and garage sales. Most of them were picked up at Brooklyn Flea from the owner of Bad Postcards (which are actually quite good.)
We picked up 12 little snap frames from A.I. Friedman (that were 50% off! whoo!) and got to work.
I spent Sunday morning in Port Jefferson, New York, a cute little town tucked away off the Long Island Sound. We walked around the docks and had a yummy brunch at Toast Coffee House. Check out all of the pictures I snapped.
Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob-omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams... literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him.
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It's getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart's ass -- and now is back in town -- to the teenage distraction he's trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn't been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues' gallery from her past -- from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsome identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.
Check out a ton of pix of Michael Cera and the rest of the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World crew after the jump...
After weeks of scorching temps the weather finally cooled down for a bit yesterday evening, so I took that as an opportunity to get outside and get some non-suffocating fresh air. I only live a block or so away from NYC's fantastic High Line park, so that was my destination of choice.
The breeze was cool, people were relaxed and there was a faint noise of a salsa band playing somewhere in the distance. The lighting was beautiful so I took a ton of photos from my iphone using this awesome app called Hipstomatic, which gives the pix a retro feel.
More photos from my evening at the High Line after the jump...
Forget High School Musical -- Zac Efron is taking on a more serious role in the new dramatic flick Charlie St. Cloud, out this Friday.
In the film, accomplished sailor Charlie St. Cloud (Efron) has the adoration of mother Claire (Oscar winner Kim Basinger) and little brother Sam (newcomer Charlie Tahan), as well as a college scholarship that will lead him far from his sleepy Pacific Northwest hometown. But his bright future is cut short when a tragedy strikes and takes his dreams with it.
After his high-school classmate Tess (Amanda Crew) returns home unexpectedly, Charlie grows torn between honoring a promise he made five years earlier and moving forward with newfound love. And as he finds the courage to let go of the past for good, Charlie discovers the soul most worth saving is his own.
Check out some photos of Zac Efron in Charlie St. Cloud:
I hope you readers are having as much fun with these posts as I am! First it was the kitchen, then it was the bedroom and now it's time for the bathroom.
The bathroom is small but nice. There is a huge mirrored medicine cabinet above the white sink and toilet. We have a clear, textured shower curtain and the tiles are an unusual tan color with a hink of pink (gross.) Which colors do you like?
Everyone was so interesting (and so helpful!) in choosing which color we should paint our kitchen, so I've decided to keep the choices coming with the rest of the painting. Next up: The bedroom!
Our bedroom, bathroom and closet area sit up in a lofted space above the living room and kitchen. The ceilings are vaulted and there is a massive skylight above the desk. The computer desk is a lime green color and will stay in the room for good, so the wall color should accent. Bed spread is a dark gray with small white lines sketched on it. Here are the front runners so far:
My good buddy Ysolt has started this great new site called My Mom Is Fabulous where readers submit pix of their mamas looking, well, fabulous!
Naturally, I submitted a photo of my own mom with an little paragraph about why she's the bomb. Here's the photo of my grandma, mom and aunt on my mom's wedding day in 1981.
I know I'm a little bit biased, but can we talk about how pretty my mom is?! And despite the '80s wedding get ups I think my gram and aunt are lookin' pretty fine, too.
You can view all of the other fab moms or send in your own picture on MyMomIsFabulous.com.
While I was at home in Western Pennsylvania this weekend I took some time to drive through the countryside nearby where I went to college. The sun was setting and the idea of an impromptu sunset was just too good to pass up. These are some shots I took with my iPhone of the sun over Volant/New Wilmington Pennsylvania. Click to see the larger versions.
The six remaining girls in this season of America's Next Top Model are off to New Zealand! In this week's photo shoot judge Nigel Barker serves as the photographer as the girls all pose in the same gown, with a special guest -- a sheep!
We have the models' best shots a day before the show! Click the photos to see a larger version.
As you may have read before the new Clash of the Titans movie is only so-so, but the shining star of the film was the stunningly beautiful Gemma Arterton, who plays the demigod Io.
Seriously, I don't know what it is but I could not stop staring at Arterton any time she was on screen. The British actress is relatively unknown here in the States, but she is most likely about to become a household name.
Gemma did a stint of roles in the UK before making her first blip on the international radar as Bond girl Strawberry Fields in the Quantum of Solace with Daniel Craig. Following her role in Clash she will next star along side Jake Gyllenhaal as Tamina in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. (Watch Arterton dish on her Prince of Persia costar)
Everyone knows that there are certain angles that people use in photos to make themselves appear more attractive... "MySpace angles" if you will. This ad for the latest Samsung camera shows you exactly why there is more than meets they eye when it comes to a flattering profile pic.
There was a major rain and wind storm in NYC last night, which was a perfect opportunity to go see Shutter Island at the theater. It was also the perfect opportunity to take pictures of the seemingly endless string of mangled umbrellas along the way.
These are the pics I took on Broadway between 14th and 13th street... One block. Behold the carnage:
Here it is! A full video of my and Carolyn's trip to London. Check out the clip with some videos and a bunch of photos from our adventure... and bonus days adventures.
Plus here are all of the photos that I took along the way. Some of them are pretty cool, I have to admit. Click on the picture to see the full version.
As 2009 comes to a close there are countless numbers of "best of" lists coming out. One of the galleries that I look forward to the most is the Year in Pictures from MSNBC.
Photo: Muhammed Muheisen/AP
Check out the gallery of 2009's best news photos with some great audio commentary from NBC's news anchors. Plus there are 2009's best sports photos, too. My favorite is this shot of balloons and an antenna by Muhammed Muheisen of the Associated Press. What's yours?
