I love that the Discover Channel -- and its sister networks like Animal Planet -- keep coming up with all of these shows about oddly specific and unusual niche careers. Collectively we'll call them Ice Swamp Log Hunters. They all focus on some blue collar career that falls under the category of, "It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it."
For me, the Ice Swamp Log Hunters shows all sorta run together into one jean short-wearing pool of murky river water, but Animal Planet's newest incarnation may be a must-add for my DVR queue. Behold the awesomeness that is Hillybilly Handfishin':
The premise is simple: Professional hillbillies (What? That's the name of the show!) Skipper Bivins and Trent Jackson, give city-slickers a taste of the redneck lifestyle by leading them into muddy waters and teaching them to "noodle," a.k.a. blindly stick their delicious fingers into the murk and yank out giant catfish.
Check out this girl giving it a try, which could easily pass for an episode of I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant.
Hot on the sky-high heels of the explosive Real Housewives of New York City reunion (where host Andy Cohen was forced to tell the ladies to "Shut the f*ck up!") Bravo has announced the premiere date for season two of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. They sure look fancy!
Following speculation of who might return, I'm happy to say that all six original wives -- Lisa Vanderpump, Taylor Armstrong, Adrienne Maloof, Camille Grammer and sisters Kim and Kyle Richards -- will be back for season two.
The twist is that the regulars will be joined by two "friends of the housewives" Dana Wilkey and Brandi Glanville, who are not technically full-time cast members. Wilkey is a Beverly Hills business woman (yawn) and Glanville is the ex-wife of actor Eddie Cibrian. I guess we can consider them the Kim D & G of RHoBH.
Check out the teaser trailer for season two, which premieres on Monday, September 5 at 9pm on Bravo.
Go glamorous with a giant cyclops eye, or class things up with a gleaming robot antenna. With a dizzying assortment of human, alien, and robot features, the possibilities are literally finite. It's super easy, too!
Start with your species and head type (seriously) and then go through customizing your very own head in a jar to look like yourself, your friends, your coworkers or a new being from your imagination.
Each episode of Top Chef Just Desserts holds two challenges for the pastry chefs. The first is a quick-fire test of their basic abilities, and the second is a more involved elimination challenge designed to test the versatility and inventiveness of the pastry chefs as they take on unique culinary trials such as working with unusual and exotic ingredients or catering for a range of demanding clients.

This week marks the end of the NBC/DirecTV series Friday Night Lights and though this may seem dramatic…Friday nights will never be the same. Full disclosure: I am from the South, I loved our high school football quarterback, I was a cheerleader in middle school, I still know all of my high school football chants, so I was locked in to Friday Night Lights from the first scene.
I will venture to say that FNL joins the ranks of My So Called Life as one of the best shows ever on television that was vastly under watched and extremely under appreciated. Each week I found myself folded into the story line as the acting expressed real life situations in the most believable ways. I felt like I was watching real people, in real situations. I think that is an extremely hard feat in the TV of today (obviously not including reality television). The style of filming and seemingly impromptu nature of the dialogues molded this show and completely captivated me. The characters are rich and diverse. The situations were relatable and honest.
There was not an episode where I didn’t want to be the daughter of Coach and Tami Taylor. Not a day when I didn’t want be caught in a love triangle with Street and Riggins. Not a minute that I wasn’t jealous of the utter beauty of Lila and Tyra. Not a second that I didn’t want Julie Taylor and Matt Saracen to end up together. Even Buddy Garrity holds a special place in my heart.
This is a series that I will watch with my children, that I will beg my family and friends to watch, a series that has actually provided solid relationship/marriage advice. It is sad to see this incredible series come to an end but I will never forget the feeling that I get every time I hear coach and the team cheer "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose."

Say what you want about the last few seasons of Project Runway, but it will always be one of my guilty pleasures. And after months of waiting, the designers of season 9 -- premiering on Thursday, July 28 at 9pm on Lifetime -- have finally been revealed.
Season 9 will feature a whopping 20 designers in the premiere episode (don't worry, swift cuts are sure to happen early) with a wacky outdoor challenge and guest judge Kim Kardashian.
Mentored by everyone's favorite fancyman Tim Gunn, meet the 20 hopeful designers who will try to "make it work" in front of Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors in the latest season of Project Runway.
Tonight is the premiere of one of Summer's most popular reality show: Big Brother. In season 13 -- premiering tonight at 9pm on CBS -- eight new house guests will enter the BB house to compete for the grand prize of $500,000.
Season 13 Cast (L-R): Lawon, Dominic, Cassi, Shelly, Prosche, Adam, Keith and Kalia
Eight house guests might seem like a small group, but the twist with season 13 is that these newbies will be joined by some of Big Brother's most memorable duos, with potentials like couple Brendon and Rachel, best buds Dr. Will and Mike "Boogie" or father-daugher-duo Evel Dick and Danielle.
While we won't find out who these memorable duos will be until the show airs, we are able to take sneak peek into this season's house, where the contestants will be filmed 24 hours a day. Keep reading see the photos!
Every time a Real Housewife releases a new song an angel gets its wings.
Today Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of The Real Housewives of New York City debuted the video for her second -- yes, second! -- singled titled "Chic C'est La Vie."
In the clip Her Elegance gets down at the Borgota hotel and casino in Atlantic City (no NYC locales available, LuAnn?) with fellow Housewives Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon. Why weren't the other NYC ladies featured? Simple: they didn't want to participate. Oh, well. Their loss!
Check out the video for "Chic C'est La Vie" below:
Last week So You Think You Can Dance kicked off by the judges deciding to not eliminate any of the top 20 dancers -- at first from the series! But that means that this week two guys and two girls will be packing their bags. The dancers were also partners up with the same partners as last week.
Joining Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy on the judges panel was none other than dance legend and jazz hand enthusiast Debbie Reynolds!
Keep reading to see the full details on the night's numbers, styles, choreographers and songs.
Tonight the top 20 dancers on season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance took to the stage for the first performance and voting night of the summer! Each of the top 10 girls and top 10 boys were paired up together to perform one routine.
Unfortunately, dancer Mitchell injured his elbow during rehearsal and was put on doctors orders to sit out the night. That means he did not dance this week and will automatically be up for elimination. Dancing in his place was SYTYCD season 7 favorite Robert Roldan.
Check out the vlog for a recap and opinions on tonight's performances:

So You Think You Can Dance will merge the concept of previous years for its eighth season. Executive Producer and Judge Nigel Lythgoe announced on Thursday night's show that Season 8 will go back to its original format of featuring 20 new dancers -- 10 boys and 10 girls -- for the start of the competition. But, because the they were so popular, some all-star dancers will return to the show to perform with the contestants once they've been narrowed down to a top 10. Pretty neat, right?
Also, for the first time ever, viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestants online at Fox.com/dance. Online voting will begin immediately after the first performance show (airing Wednesday, June 15.) In addition to online voting, fans will continue to be able to vote via toll-free phone lines and text-messaging during the voting window.
But let's get back to the dancers! After a few weeks of audition rounds and callbacks in Las Vegas the top 20 dancers on season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance have been revealed. Take a look!
If you really think about it, It's hard to imagine a time before the Kardashians ruled the airwaves. Between the sheer number of members of the family to the countless spin-offs Keeping Up with the Kardashians has created it's easy to lose track of just how many seasons that show has been on TV.
Believe it or not Keeping Up with the Kardashians premieres its sixth -- yes, sixth! -- season this Sunday June 12 at 10pm on E!, and the lovely ladies of the series have posed for some gorgeous new promo shots. Check 'em out!
Tonight the 16 remaining singers will battle it out as NBC's hit singing competition The Voice goes live. To kick off the live episodes the four coaches -- Cee-Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton -- will come together to perform a medley of memorable Queen songs.
The four coaches will perform a three-song medley of Queen hits like "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions." This is the first time they'll perform since the season premiere rendition of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy." Should be a fun way to kick off the live shows!
If you haven't been watching The Voice, first off - Why? It's awesome. Secondly, have no fear! Now that the blind auditions and battle rounds are over tonight is the perfect time to jump on board. Keep reading to get a quick scan of the four teams and 16 contestants before tonight's live show.
I am very lucky to be able to say that I did something that very few other people in the world can say they have done, too. I had direct contact with Oprah Winfrey.
In November 2009 my best friend, Carolyn, and I skyped with Oprah in an online Webcast about her book club selection Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan.
Fittingly, we discussed the chapter about best friends and talked for a few minutes with the Big O and Mr. Akpan. Oprah even called us cute! I still can't believe it.
The embeddable version of the Webcast is no longer available, but you can watch it on Oprah.com to see the proof! We pop up around 1:40.
On Wednesday we found out that Pennsylvania native Brittani Kline took home the title of America's Next Top Model for Cycle 16 (check out her portfolio here), but today even more photos from the Moroccan finale hit the interweb.
Take a look at the Cycle 15 winner Ann Ward walking the runway alongside Cycle 16 contestants Kasia, Hannah and Alexandria. Plus check out some new photos of Brittani and Molly at panel, and Brittani's winner's shoot with Tyra Banks.
Now that the season is over, the contestants of America's Next Top Model are able to speak out about their time on the show. Check out this great interview with the confident and likable Kasia Pilewicz, who came in fifth place on Cycle 16.
In a sit down with the Associated Press, Kasia gives us insight into her experience with the competition, what Alexandria was really like, and why she was rooting for Molly to win the competition. Check it out:
Kasia may not have been my most favorite model of Cycle 16, but I definitely think she's super talented and fun! Do you think she'd wanna be my friend?
What did you think of Kasia's interview? Leave a comment!
Hard to believe that Cycle 16 of America's Next Top Model is over already, but after some wild photo shoots, loads of drama and a trip to Morocco it was finally time to pick a winner. Both Molly and Brittani had strong performances in the final week, and through the season, but only one can be named America's Next Top Model.
Keep reading to find out who was the winner of America's Next Top Model Cycle 16...
