Clip Du Jour: The 300 PG

Happy Friday Everyone! Friday's are a good day to check out what's playing at the cineplex this week, and if you haven't heard, The 300 is still one of the best movies at the box office. Made with an unusually small budget and filmed entirely on a blue screen soundstage, this movie is eye candy from start to finish.

Unforutnately many people are concerned about the amount of blood and gore in the film. To address people's concerns, the movie has been re-cut for a PG audience. Check out the trailer from our friends at Black20.com

Clip Du Jour: Eggo Waffles are Good

Sorry for the lack of lengthy posts lately, but I've been hella busy. I will leave you with today's Clip Du Jour from Adam Ray Comedy (myspace.com/adamraycomedy). This clip is a quick reminder that sometimes it's better to just let someone walk off with your Eggo.

Back to Basics Tour

In another day-of-show miracle, my friend Shira and I scored some amazing tickets to the Back to Basics tour starring Christina Aguilera, the Pussycat Dolls and Danity Kane. We got seats in the last row of the first floor section. Really great, centered view of the stage! I lucked out again.

Danity Kane was the first act to go on. If you don't know them, they're from MTV's Making the Band and are backed by Diddy. Their CD is really fun kinda poppy-hiphop with some ballads. I really like it. The girls sang really great live, but unfortunately they kinda looked like a busted version of the Spice Girls (sorry ladies!)

After the show they were presented with some gold records for their album's success. Nice opening act. Here's a clip of the ladies performing "Show Stopper." It's really bassy because I was so close, but you can get the idea.

Next up were the Pussycat Dolls, who were like a much more polished and sexy version of the Danities. Granted, they've been around longer but their presentation was a lot tighter. I guess it's hard to dislike six gorgeous women dancing around in lingerie, but still... they were great. Really fun and they didn't take themselves too seriously. They know who they are and what pepole like.

Here's a clip from "Don't Cha" so check it out.

Finally, Christina Aguilera come out as the headlining act. I saw Christina a few months on Saturday Night Live and she tore the house down. She was even better tonight. Christina continued to push her retro style from the Back to Basics album, but never let it go too over the top. She reworked a lot of her older songs to fit into the jazz/soul genre, but stayed true to most of the hits.

The highlights of the concert for me were the big band opening of the show with "Ain't No Other Man," the speakeasy feel she did on top of a piano halfway through the show, and her rendition of "Dirrty" she did atop a carousel horse. Not to shabby. Check out all the pix and the video clip of "Ain't No Other Man."

Clip Du Jour: Peyton Manning on SNL

Good morning and happy Monday to everyone out there. I'll have some lengthier posts coming up later today or tomorrow, but I wanted to make sure that everyone checked out this Clip Du Jour from this week's Saturday Night Live. This week's host was Peyton Manning from the Indianapolis Colts. I'm always a little wary when they have athletes as hosts, but Peyton was really great! This is probably my favorite clip of the night. Peyton loves to help children in need. Check it out.

Worldwide Fido

I'm not really sure why I've been writing about pets lately, but they just seem to keep coming up in my life. My friend tipped me off to this website called WorldwideFido.com. Its a community website for dogs (I know, right?) It's a little bit like MySpace and YouTube combined. You can post pictures and videos and win contests. It might sound a little goofy but I think it could really catch on so I decided to share.

As a big fan of show's like America's Funniest Home Videos I always enjoy watching animals doing weird things, so that's my favorite part of the website. If you have a dog, sign them up and make them do weird things and then show me the video because I will laugh. Check it out.
