Zicam Kills Colds and 2 of the 5 Senses

Last week I was feeling a little under the weather and mentioned my love for the Zicam nasal spray. I have seriously used the product for years and years, and now it was brought to my attention that it might not be the best idea after all.

My coworker, Caitlin, forwarded me an article from the Consumerist.com about Zicam, saying they have settled over 400 lawsuits from users who say they no longer have a sense of taste of smell. Great!!! I mean, who really needs to taste or smell things, anyway? It's totally overrated.

I will say that I have never personally experience any of these negative side effects from the product. I've only experienced a speedy recovery and a slightly less snotty nose (TMI?) There have also been several articles refuting the claims of the non-smellers and non-tasters, but I'm too lazy to look those up. Google them yourselves if you really care that much.

I think most people are generally turned off by anything that you have to put up your nose (except maybe Lohan- oh! You're burnt!) but I think it really works for me. Only time will tell if I lose any of my senses, but let me say this: If I am unable to taste the sweet, delicious magic of McDonalds french fries there will be hell to pay. Hell!

The Price Is Right for Carey

The game show community has been abuzz lately trying to deduce who would take over hosting duties of The Price Is Right after Bob Barker announced his retirement. Names were being thrown around everywhere... Was it going to be fellow tanorexic George Hamilton? Maybe it was going to be John O'Hurley? Even Rosie O'Donnell? Nope. Not even close.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere was the announcement on Monday night's episode of The Late Show with David Letterman that Drew Carey would be the one to take over the skinny mic. I honestly didn't even know that Drew was in the running for the hosting gig. I hadn't heard his name anywhere in the mix, but good for him. After all, Mr. Carey hosted the American version of Whose Line Is It Anyway for many years and is currently hosting The Power of 10. on CBS.

I think he'll do a nice job of hosting. ABC News posted an interview with Carey after the announcement. Apparently he would only accept the position if Bob Barker approved (which he did) and he also got some advice from the legend himself; "Don't try to imitate me." Nice.

My only wish for the show now is that Mimi comes back as one of the "Barker Beauties," although they'll have to be renamed now, huh?

Good luck, dough boy!

Cadaver Calculator

Did you ever wonder how much someone would pay for your dead body on the black market? No? Never?! Well now there's a way to find out! Mingle2.com's Cadaver Calculator allows you to answer some general health questions (height, weight, elephantitis status) and then estimates your corpse's value. Morbidly fun, right?

My friend Pierce sent me the link and I couldn't resist finding out how much this temple was really worth.
$3005.00The Cadaver Calculator - Find out how much your body is worth.

$3005? That's it?! Probably because of my years of only eating foods that are brown, tan or beige... and that prosthetic leg I've been hoofing around. I wanna make sure I do my homework before I make any purchases in the future, so use the calculator and let me know how I compare with the rest of you dead beats.
