We Need A Hero(es)!

Time for a little geeking out on my part. With the exception of Big Brother 8 and So You Think You Can Dance I have really been disappointed with television this summer. I actually had to like... go outside and stuff. *shudder* Luckily for me, one of my favorite shows, Heroes, is returning with a brand new season on Monday, September 24th. Granted, it's about a month away, but the hype has already begun. NBC has started running promos for season two... please watch:

And tomorrow you can finally pick up the first season of Heroes on DVD! I'm pumped. I'm a big fan of TV shows on DVD, because you never know when you might get stuck in front of the tube on a Sunday afternoon with nothing saved on your DVR and no marathons of Top Model running! Yikes! Gonna need to pick up this set tomorrow.

In celebration of the release, some of the stars of the show will be appearing on NBC's TODAY on Tuesday morning, and then will crossing the street and doing a meet and greet at the NBC Experience Store. I'm not going to lie... I might have to venture downstairs and get in a little nerd time. I replaced my lost camera, so maybe I'll have some photographic evidence to share in the near future... just maybe.

Regardless of whether or not I make it to see the Heroes in person, I'm really excited for season 2 to begin! I have no idea what's going to happen with the story line... or which characters will be returning... or who is good and who is evil! ay yi yi. I'm getting flustered already.

Weekend Update

Hello, faithful readers! You can all rejoice, because after losing my camera on Amtrak I have secured another cam and have resumed photographing every little event in my life. This weekend my best friend from college, Lauren, and her roommate and my friend, Jill, came to visit NYC. Keeping the pix to a minimum, here are a few select favorites from a weekend of sight-seeing, eating, drinking and merriment:

Jill, Me and Lauren at Top of the Rock

Jill and Lauren taking obligatory shots of the Empire State Building

I took the girls up to my office so they could see where I blog... er, work every day

Lauren and I posing for our post-graduation photo in Central Park

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Thing of the Week: Star vs Star

I received an email the other day about a new website that I became have quickly become obsessed with, so I had to share. Today's Thing of the Week Is:
It's a new website that combines two of the most popular things on the internet: Celebrities and fantasy sports! Seriously!

It's pretty simple to play and super addicting! Basically, you just go to StarvsStar.com and sign up. Then you join a league, make a celebrity wish list, draft your celebs and then you're set! You play against 7 other teams in a league, and have the chance to select new celebs or trade ones that aren't getting enough press. They have stat cards on each star so that you can keep tabs on their ranking and status.

The point system is determined by how much press your celebrities get each day. So whether they get married, get in a fight, have a pregnancy scare or just go shopping- you get points! Here's the top 5 celebs on my wish list. Hopefully I'll get all the ones I want, but I have a feeling that other people will try to scoop them up, too.

There are a few spots open in my league. It's called ALeagueAboutThings if you want to join. Let me know and I'll give you the password ! I am obsessed!

Let me know what you think...

Britney is No Longer My Best Friend

Ok, Britney Spears was never actually my best friend, but Carolyn and I like to say that in a real southern voice when we talk about her. Today, she is officially off my imaginary celebrity BFF list. Oh ya, I'm serious.

According to several sources, including the NY Post, Britney was asked to record and perform a duet with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake which would be produced by uber-producer Timbaland. Everything that Timbaland has touched turned to gold this year (and last year, too) and Justin Timberlake isn't doing too bad for himself, either. Britney agreed to the duet, but apparently pulled out at the last second because she didn't want to do it anymore.

You are stupid, Britney. We all knew that you were a little *makes crazy motion* but this really shows that you don't care about your career whatsoever anymore. I'm not trying to turn into a Perez Hilton or anything, but it's sad to me that a celeb who was basically the queen of the world a few years ago is now nothing but a joke.

It was rumored that Britney was going to make her comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards next month, but apparently that's not happening (or at least shouldn't) anymore. News just broke today that Timberlake will be joined by a different leading lady; Madonna. Not too shabby. Wonder if Madge will lock lips with JT the way she did with Britney (and Christina, but everyone forgets.)

How do you feel about Britney? Do you think she can turn it around or is she too "country?"
