Last night was another episode of the America's Next Top Model and Carolyn and I were there for every boring second of it. I'm not sure what it is this cycle... maybe the girls are just better, so they're not as fun to watch. Maybe the producers are having a hard time thinking up new and exciting ideas for the show. Maybe last season was just so good (it was pretty good) that this one can't compare. Regardless, we still put in our two cents and were VERY happy that jerk _____ was eliminated. A Vlog About Things: Top Model is Getting Boring
First off- Lemme just say that I am very a happy that it is finally below 60 degrees in New York. It's about time, it's practically November! Anyway...

Britney Spears "Blackout"
Yesterday someone slipped me a copy of Britney Spears' new album Blackout. I listened to it on repeat for about 3 solid hours while i was working, and now I want to share my thoughts on the troubled singers new LP. First and foremost, let's talk about the horrendous cover. What the heck? Honestly, if that was the only picture of Britney available for use, maybe they should have just left it off and just put the words. It's not a good picture! She looks like she's going on some weird, ballerina safari. Anyway...Besides loathing the cover art, I actually think the album is really, really good. I'm not joking, guys. The tracks are hot. Granted, I don't really think it sounds too much like old Britney (both in the style of music and her over-produced vocals) but the tracks are hot. I would say that if you can listen to the album with an unbiased ear you will find yourself nodding to the beats at some point. Forget the crotch shots and baby drops; just listen to the tunes and I think you will enjoy.
The person that really deserves the credit for this CD is the producer(s.) The production value on this album is excellent, at least in my humble opinion. Lots of layers, unusual sounds and slick hooks. The songs are catchy and fun, what you would expect from a Britney album, but you just have to pretend that it's not a train wreck singing to you. It's almost as if Britney came into the studio knowing nothing about the songs, just sang the way the producers instructed and let them work their magic. It definitely worked.
The bad part about the situation is that Britney has a great album but has so much garbage going on in her personal life that there's no way she's going to be up to promoting it. One would expect to see Brit appearing on The Tonight Show or Saturday Night Live or doing some sort of promotion, but I doubt that's going to happen. Either Britney is so confident in her new music and fan base that she doesn't feel the need to promote the album, or she just really has no clue as to what's going on in reality. Unfortunately, I think it's the latter.
So... what's your opinion? Do you even care about Britney anymore?

Fainting with the Stars
Man, I have been waiting all month to get such a perfectly-titled blog post. If you missed Dancing with the Stars last night (and let's face it, you probably did) then you probably didn't get to see Marie Osmond pass out during her judges critique. Don't worry- Marie is OK, she just blacked out for a second. That's normal, right? I have to give her credit, though... In true Osmond fashion, she went down with a smile on her face! Click the pic to watch Marie bite it.
Also on Dancing with the Stars was a surprise appearance by The Spice Girls! No, they weren't actually at the show, but the cameras followed Mel B to London where she was shooting a video for the Girls' new single "Headlines." We got a quick glimpse of the Girls and got to watch them tease Mel's partner, Maksim. Later, Mel danced the samba to "Spice Up Your Life" which I wasn't happy about, but I knew it was going to happen at some point. She looked good and the judges loved her, so let's hope she's not in the bottom 2 again. (please note Victoria not smiling, as per the usual.)In other Spice Girls news (I'm sorry, this will be going on until I see them in February) their new single "Headlines" leaked onto the web this morning, and you can listen to it below!

Passive Aggressive Notes
Every so often I find a website that just makes me laugh or chuckle at my desk. Many of you may have seen this before, but I couldn't help but share with those that are unfamiliar.
I'm sure all of us have seen a slightly-offensive or accusative note left in our workplace, dorm or apartment building. Some of us may even be guilty of posting every once in a while. PassiveAgressiveNotes.com is a site that lets people who are peeved about a well, passive-aggressive note submit the sign in question and share with the world. Please allow me to share some of my favorites:
