Pilates in Heels: Where Fashion Meets Fitness

As a fan of America's Next Top Model I've seen some pretty wild photo shoots over the past 16 cycles of the show. Photographers have set up the girls in shoots involving landfills, statues and even some big ass sheep, but I have yet to see a shoot quite like this one.

Adrian Rand Photography, the talent behind the shots, worked with fashion and beauty bloggers Ariston Anderson of Luxist and Bryce Gruber of The Luxury Spot who created the concept and eventually served as the models for the shoot. (You may remember Gruber from the last season of Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker.)

Truthfully, the ladies probably aren't going to get much of a workout in those sky-high heels, but that's not the point. The photographer says the idea behind the shoot was simply to illustrate powerful women that are able to do whatever they want with style. I'd say, "mission accomplished."

Take a look a some more shots from the "pilates in heels" shoot (click to enlarge):

Metallic Fish Lurk in 'The Deep'

I've been obsessing over old tools and small machinery lately -- weird, I know -- to decorate my apartment (check out these wrenches I scored!), so when I saw this quick film from Showtime's Short Strories I dove right in.

Watch some metal objects from the past come to life in the depths of the sea in this short film called The Deep.

Catch Up on All the Shoots from Cycle 16 of 'America's Next Top Model'

This week's episode of America's Next Top Model features some highlights, lowlights and never-before-seen footage from Cycle 16. The "highlights" episodes are never my favorite -- especially when they're in the middle of the season -- but it does give us fans a chance to catch up on shoots past before entering the home stretch.

As ANTM looks back refresh your memory by checking out all of the photo shoots we've seen so far. Click the photos to look at all of the models' shots from that week.

Pat's Blogger ABCs

Pat trying dim sum for the first time - more irrelevant info

Remember those email and Facebook surveys that used to fly around? Ya, they were a good way to kill time, weren't they? Well, I just spied a little "ABC blogger survey" posted by Brooke over at Claremont Road and was feeling a little nostalgic, so I decided to take it for myself.

Without further ado, here's a bunch of random info about me that you probably don't care about!

A. Age: 28

B. Bed size: Queen (but I think secretly it's a double)

C. Chore you hate: Washing the dishes! I have no problem cleaning the toilet, but touching old, wet food bits really grosses me out.

D. Dogs: Are awesome... sometimes. We just recently said goodbye to my family dog, Grommit (watch him sing Happy Birthday to my aunt) at Christmas. Dogs are fun and loyal, but I'm sorry, I will not be friending anyone's dog on Facebook or following them on Twitter.

E. Essential start to your day: Coffee! Ack! (Shout out to Cathy!) I definitely need my caffeine in the morning, which is totally cliche. I always start my week days with a shower as soon as I get up. No dilly dallying around. Right to the shower.

F. Favorite color: Depends. I wear a lot of grey clothes. I like purple. For decor I like urban colors like these ones.

G. Gold or silver: Silver

H. Height: 5' 10"

I. Instruments: I played the oboe when I was in fourth grade. I chose it because no one else in school played the oboe and I wanted to be the only one. Later, I accidentally stabbed the razor-sharp double reed up my nose, therefore dashing my chances at becoming the Yani of the oboe.
