'ANTM' Winner Eva Marcille Hosts Season 2 of 'Hair Battle Spectacular'

The Oxygen network says they are Top Model obsessed, and they're definitely proving themselves! In 2009 they slated ANTM Cycle 8 winner CariDee English to host their show Pretty Wicked, and now they've tapped Cycle 3 winner Eva Marcille to host season 2 of Hair Battle Spectacular.

Season 2 of Hair Battle Spectacular -- premiering tonight at 10pm on Oxygen -- pits 11 of America’s hottest stylists against each other to see who can deliver the biggest and best in fantasy hair design. Part sculpture and part pop art, fantasy hair has become part of mainstream pop culture through icons such as Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

Across eight episodes, each challenge -- meet them here! -- requires contestants to create outrageous coifs that resemble everything from Hollywood stars to hounds and handbags. The stylists then enter the ring to bring the drama and present their hair creations in a high-octane and stylized performance.

After each challenge, the judges, including award-winning fantasy hair designer Derek J, former Rachel Zoe assistant and stylist Taylor Jacobson and a rotating guest judge, will critique the stylists on creativity, execution and overall presentation. In addition to blow-by-blow drama in the contest, there is also the day-to-day drama between the cohabitating stylists who fight each week to stay in the game and win the ultimate prize of $100,000.

Family, Friends and Photos

Last week I was traveling around spending time with my family and my friends outside of NYC. Here are a few of the photos I snapped along the way using Instagram for my iPhone.

Here's me with some of my little cousins (well, second cousins, I guess):

Why Bravo's 'Platinum Hit' Is No One-Hit Wonder

By Sean Martin, Contributing Writer

One of this summer's freshest competition series, Platinum Hit -- which unfortunately did not become a hit for the network -- comes to an end tonight at 8pm on Bravo. The three remaining singer-songwriters are incredibly talented and extremely unique. The finalists are Sonyae Elise, the R&B/Hip Hop writer from Newark, NJ, Scotty Granger, the Pop/R&B song writer from New Orleans and Jes Hudak, the Pop/Soul song writer from upstate New York.

When Bravo announced Platinum Hit earlier in the year, I had my doubts. What would make me want to watch song writers write songs? How is that going to hold my attention? Luckily, the concept for the series turned out to be a good one. And the casting didn’t hurt either. The group assembled for season one was diverse, with a bunch of big personalities (a necessity for reality TV). More importantly, the group was talented and the viewing audience this summer was treated to some really fantastic songs and performances.

Before I jump into my favorite songs of the summer, I want to put it out there that I know absolutely nothing about song writing. Several times, my favorite song was the one the judges liked the least -- usually Kara DioGaurdi, who I felt was particularly nasty. I prefer how a song sounds -- not necessarily the thought behind the lyrics. I’m your average music listener, which I think is important for a show like Platinum Hit. Although, I guess that’s why Ellen Degeneres was brought on board for American Idol and we all know how that worked out.

So, with the show's finale dropping tonight I thought I'd share my six favorite songs from Platinum Hit -- in no particular order:
