I've heard a lot about Second Life, but haven't ever experienced it for myself. If you're unfamiliar, Second Life is basically an enhanced version of the Sims, but instead of a make believe world, the Second Life world is very real. You create a virtual version of yourself and can interact with others, shop at online stores, even buy real estate... and it's all real! Real in the sense that you purchase things with real money. All property created and bought in the virtual world legally belongs to its owner, so things that happen in the game are now influence the real world.
My friend, Melissa Batulis, is a reporter at WFMZ-TV in Pennsylvania and did a three-part series on the Second Life phenomenon and it's effect on the virtual world. It might take you a bit to watch all three parts, but I really encourage you to check it out. I've never used Second Life, but I'm very tempted to try it out now.
Have you ever tried Second Life? What do you think about it?
