Updated: Britney Spears Performs "Womanizer" All Over Europe

Britney Spears took to the stage for a live performance for the first time since her ghastly performance at the 2008 VMAs. Spears performed "Womanizer" from her soon-to-be-released album, Circus, on the Bambi Awards in Germany. Perhaps the idea was to get back on stage overseas so that she can prep for her American media onslaught next week without being seen. Too bad we have YouTube, Brit Brit. Watch her performance before it gets removed:

So, I think it was a fair job for Britney. I love the Circus-ified version of the song, but I think Britney still needs to build up the courage and stage persona of her former self (perhaps she should get an alter-ego like Beyonce.) She is going through the motions, albeit with much more enthusiasm than that VMA performance, but I hope she's building more umph for her US gigs. The smile at the end of the routine was cute, but to me it smacked of "I didn't mess up!" more than "I had a great performance."

Update: Here is Britney performing "Womanizer" on two other European gigs. First at France's Star Academy, then at the UK's X-Factor.

I think her energy and confidence seem to get better with each performance. Hopefully she'll be good and warmed up before she starts promoting Circus in the US tomorrow. What do you think?
