The Price Is Right for Carey

The game show community has been abuzz lately trying to deduce who would take over hosting duties of The Price Is Right after Bob Barker announced his retirement. Names were being thrown around everywhere... Was it going to be fellow tanorexic George Hamilton? Maybe it was going to be John O'Hurley? Even Rosie O'Donnell? Nope. Not even close.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere was the announcement on Monday night's episode of The Late Show with David Letterman that Drew Carey would be the one to take over the skinny mic. I honestly didn't even know that Drew was in the running for the hosting gig. I hadn't heard his name anywhere in the mix, but good for him. After all, Mr. Carey hosted the American version of Whose Line Is It Anyway for many years and is currently hosting The Power of 10. on CBS.

I think he'll do a nice job of hosting. ABC News posted an interview with Carey after the announcement. Apparently he would only accept the position if Bob Barker approved (which he did) and he also got some advice from the legend himself; "Don't try to imitate me." Nice.

My only wish for the show now is that Mimi comes back as one of the "Barker Beauties," although they'll have to be renamed now, huh?

Good luck, dough boy!
