The Circus Starring Britney Spears

Saturday night I made the 15min trek from NYC to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ to see the one and only Britney Spears live in concert. The Circus Starring Britney Spears was a 90 minute theatrical experience in the round. Concerts in the round (like Justin Timberlake's Future Sex/Love Show) are sometimes tricky to pull off, but the Spears camp did a great job of utilizing every bit of space in the arena, end to end and top to bottom.

My pictures didn't really turn out that great, but check out the opening of the show and the first song "Circus"

Overall it was a really fun show. Always something to look at and very entertaining. The Pussycat Dolls were the opening act and man, those girls can really shake their ass... Not to mention that lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has a set of pipes that is greatly under appreciated.

Britney did her thing to the best of her current ability. She walked around and broke out a few dance moves for each number, but there were only a few glimpses of the old Britney. The show was completely lip synced from start to finish, with only a few, "How you doing tonight, New Jersey?!"s in the mix. That being said, I doubt anyone in attendance was there to hear Britney's stellar vocal, so the Cirque du Soleil-style show was completely entertaining from start to finish.

[thanks for the video, Pierce]
