The Week on the West Coast

This week had minimal broadcasting and maximum sun and adventure! I was lucky enough to travel out to the West Coast with my best friend to stay with my cousin Jay in San Diego. We flew out last Friday and got back yesterday afternoon. It was my first time out on the West Coast and it was AMAZING! Things are so different out there, but it's hard to explain. Just a different attitude. I got to do so much while I was out there. I went to the beach almost every day. We went to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Little Italy, Pacific Beach, Torrey Pines State Park, Downtown... everywhere! It was so amazing to be literally be 20 min away from anything! Look one way; the beach. Look the other way; the city. Look another way; the mountains or desert! So nice! I definitely had a relaxing time and had a lot of fun, too! I'll try to get some pictures up when I get some!

The career search is locked on to big target. My NBC interview is in 4 days and I'm starting to get anxious. I have my resume perfected, transcript and references ready. Now I just have to get my gameface on and really think about what I'm going to say. Liz Farry gave me some inside info about how her interview went, so I have a little heads up. Mr. Weaver and I had a phone conversation before I left about what things I should focus on and how I should sell myself. I think it was really helpful, and he brought up a lot of selling points that I wouldn't have thought about myself. Thanks, BWeave! Quick shout out to WC grad Amanda Oliveri- she has an interview at WCBS in NYC right now! Maybe we'll be doing lunch this summer, haha!

I found an article on MTVNews.com that I found VERY interesting! The article talks about something that we touched on in sales class and programming and promotions. "You're a 17-year-old girl who loves Usher and Diet Pepsi, shops at Target and listens to the R&B station in your city. Imagine your surprise when you walk into the local Target and a clerk hands you an exclusive Usher single with a Diet Pepsi coupon and tickets to a show sponsored by your local station. Creepy, right?" Found out how they knew!
