America's Next Top Model Casting Short Girls for Cycle 13

While I wouldn't consider it to be particularly short, official word (email from casting producer) from the folks casting Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model are looking for girls who are 5'7" and under. Yes, you read that right... UNDER.

I've done my research and it does appear that this new casting call for more "petite" girls is legit. The official eligibility requirements on the CW's website clearly state they are only looking for girls 5'7" and shorter.

So that's how they're spicing up the 13th Cycle of ANTM? Really? There weren't any better twists that the producers could think up? The ideal of having girls shorter than the industry standard seems very contradictory to past Cycles' mantras... Especially since past contestants like Mollie Sue and Eva (although she won) were highly criticized for their short stature.

If you've always wanted to be on ANTM but never stood up to the height requirements you're in luck!

What do you think of this twist? Cycle 12 doesn't even premiere until Wednesday March 4, but it looks like we have something interesting to look forward to for Cycle 13.
