Danity Kane "Welcome to the Dollhouse"

Danity Kane is back with a follow up to their debut self-titled album with their sophomore LP Welcome to the Dollhouse. The girls of DK came together on P. Diddy's reality show Making the Band 3 seasons 1 and 2 and have actually had a large amount of success in the music industry... unlike most of the other Making the Band groups.

Danity Kane went straight to #1 on the charts and was certified platinum (I was at the concert when they were presented w/ their plaques) and the girls are looking to recapture their success when Welcome to the Dollhouse is released on Tuesday March 18, 2008. I was lucky enough to score the album's tracks over the weekend and I am happy to report that the CD is really good and could definitely match the sales of their debut.

If you've been watching Danity Kane's progress on the 4th season of Making the Band you've probably heard them repeatedly say they are going for an "international dance pop sound" on their record: Mission accomplished. The heavier hip hop beats from their first album have been switched out for dancier rhythms and a more, well... international vibe (think Britney Spears' Blackout.) I've been listening to the disc for the last day or so and my stand out tracks are "Sucka For Love," "Lights Out" and my favorite "Bad Girl f. Missy Elliott." Check out the video for their first single "Damaged"
