When living in an urban area (well, anywhere, really) a big snowfall can be both beautiful and incredibly annoying at the same time. Here in NYC we've had a record amount of snow over the last few months which has stopped mass transit, ruined cars and cause general mayhem in the city.
The large amount of snow has also caused some sporadic "adult snow days" and made for some killer photo opps. While I didn't think fast enough to snap any pictures on my way into the office today, I did find a treasure trove of photos from all of my photographically inclined Facebook friends.
Take a look at some of my favorite mobile uploads from Facebook with shots of Columbus Circle, Union Square, Central Park and other neighborhoods around the City.
Besides the disgusting, gray slush that is left over a snowfall in the city can be quite refreshing. And as my friend Matthew pointed out on his blog, there is nothing more magical than the daylight effect caused by street lights reflecting off the snow at night.
